Well, basically a lot of things happened with my life and I sort of forgot about deviantart over the past two years.

First of all, yes... I managed to get into University. And I'm doing Economics, majoring in Development Studies, hoping to move onto a Masters degree after I graduate next year. I have currently acquired a job in mostly event security and am finding it really fun. So far, no big problems and I always have good teammates to back me up when the excrement hits the fan.

I think I'll major in Conflict, Resolution and Development in my masters degree (which is btw going to be in International Development). I've taken to being really sad and boring and actually reading economic articles and books mostly by Joseph Stiglitz, Amartya Sen and Ha Joon Chang's "The Bad Samaritan" which I really should pick up and have a thorough read through during my holidays.

Unfortunately it's not going to be easy getting a job in any country, with what's going on with the British and American economy at the moment, I'm thinking of learning a West European language; German sounds really challenging and also Dutch. I do want to work in the United Nations at some point during my life because I feel I can make a difference in the world and fully intend to.

It's been two years since I last updated this journal, I feel old. All them Year Eights I was talking about in the previous post are now in Year Ten and will be moving onto Year Eleven next year. Boy do they sure grow fast.

Summer's really hot here in the UK, about 27 degrees celcius and I know that's nothing compared to Malaysia but unfortunately the English people seem to lack the luxury of personal air conditioners and therefore I am sweating successfully and failing at controlling my temper.

During one of my volunteering sessions today I shouted at a Year Seven student who was behaving rather raucously while I was trying to explain the substance of the activity to the entire year group. He gave me such a hurt look that I felt guilty immediately, and told one of his teachers, but she just said that he puts on that act very frequently to get what he wants. Still feel guilty and have the utmost respect for teachers though.

Well, I am going to go off and hunt for more things to photograph with this camera phone of mine. Getting quite excited really.
